Maxi Obes & The Cancelled
The prophecy got fulfilled
We will not mention the name of the venue, we assumed this could happen, but not on our first booked date. We had caused a great first impression and our music was deemed too good to be unnoticed, the contact of the venue said we should be filling up stadiums abroad.
The first meeting went so well, that we were offered a date to present our music soon after the first contact. Too good to be true, and maybe names do carry a certain power and weight. Soon after confirming, we were called up and told that our narrative, present in most songs as an expression of romanticism and desire, was too much for the atendees to tolerate.
Quite funny, and mostly because we had named the band as "The Cancelled" (Los Cancelados). We did in fact joke often about how our jokes during rehearsals could get us cancelled.
So we will consider only venues with stron artistic commitment.
